No More Horrible Night Cramps

Cramps No More!

Here is a very old and very simple remedy for cramps. Many elderly people I have
spoken to over the years swear by this remedy to prevent leg cramps.

As with any home remedy it may not work for everyone and rarely do home remedies
work immediately, so a little patience is required when trying out these things.

Simply put a bar of soap, any kind will do, under your sheet at the foot of your bed.
You will no longer be plagued with cramps.

This tip came from an old Mountain man.

  7. Hearing problems
  8. Anemia
  9. Atherosclerosis
  10. Hemorrhoids
  11. Vision problems
  12. Headaches
  13. Rheumatism
  14. Headaches
  15. Sinusitis
There are 3 ways in which you can combine, prepare and consume these powerful ingredients and get instant relief and positive results. We have made a research and will share the three methods that will work for you:
Method number 1:
To prepare this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
  • 1 cup of ginger juice
  • 1 cup of lemon juice
  • 1 cup of apple cider vinegar (ACV)
  • 1 cup of garlic juice
  • 3 cups of natural honey
Follow these instructions for preparation and consumption:
First, you have to get the ingredients in its natural, organic form, if possible. Mix the ginger, lemon, garlic juice and the ACV in a bowl and boil them for half an hour until you get them perfectly mixed together.
After the liquid cools for a while, add the honey into the mix. Transfer the mixture into a glass bottle and put it in the refrigerator.
Every morning on an empty stomach consume about one teaspoon of the mix. In a few weeks you will feel the benefits that your body will get.
            Method Number 2:
For the second recipe, you will need these ingredients:
  • 30 cloves of garlic all chopped into little pieces.
  • 6 peeled lemons cut into small pieces.
Instructions for preparation:
Put the two ingredients into a blender, pouring a glass of water as well into the mix. Blend until you get a homogenous mixture. The content that you will get from the blender should be poured into a pot with 2 liters of water in it. Bring the liquid to a boil and let it simmer for another 5 minutes. When the content is cool enough, sieve the liquid and transfer it to a glass bottle. You should discard the residue and store the liquid into the fridge.
Directions for use:
As a first dosage, you should drink about 50 mL of the mixture, every day for three weeks. After the three weeks, make a pause of 1 week. After that 1 week passes, it is time for the second dosage, which is also drinking about 50mL of the mixture, every day, for about three weeks. You should repeat this treatment every 6 months.
            Method Number 3:
To prepare this 3rd recipe use these ingredients:
  • 6 lemons
  • 30 cloves of garlic
Instructions:
Put 3 lemons and 15 cloves of garlic into a food processor or a Vitamiser. Top it with water and a bit of sugar (which is optional) and vitamise.
Pour the texture into a metal pot. Do the same procedure with the other 3 lemons and the rest of the garlic cloves. Pour an additional 1 liter of water into the mixture in the pot. Bring all the ingredients in the pot to a boil and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
Pour the liquid through a strainer and let it drain into another pot. After it has drained thoroughly, wait for it to cool off.
When the liquid is cool enough, use a strainer and funnel to pour it into glass bottles. You will probably get about 4 bottles of the mixture which should be placed and kept in the fridge. Keep in mind to use glass bottles!
Directions and dosage:
The first dosage that you should take would be about 1 standard glass of the mixture for about three weeks. After that, you should stop for one week. The second dosage is basically the same as the first one, drinking a glass of the mix every day for another three weeks.
No matter which method you will use and which recipe you prepare you will reap the benefits of the miraculous rejuvenating drink. For those of you, who are worried about the smell of garlic, should have in mind that lemon neutralizes it perfectly.
That is one of the reasons lemons and garlic is a good combination. Another healthy alternative after having this healthy drink, would be chewing on some parsley leaves which will give you a fresh smell.

Powerful Homemade Pineapple Drink That Treats Gout! (Recipe)

Gout is a terribly painful affliction so when we can come across a natural remedy that might just give some relief, you can bet your boots that we are going to give it a try.

I came across this wonderful article this morning and decided to share it in it's entirety. The link to the original site is attached so that full credit goes to the writer.

May all of you that suffer from gout find releif in this natural cure or at least gain some comfort and releif.

Any type of autoimmune disease that is progressive and cannot be reversed, can cause pain and discomfort which have to be controlled or at least brought into balance by a healthy lifestyle including diet and exercise.
In this article we will elaborate the causes and symptoms of gout and will share with you a recipe of a powerful drink which will help you ease and relieve the pain, while reducing the symptoms.
Gout is in fact a type of arthritis, causing burning pain, swelling, and stiffness, in a joint, usually a big toe.
Gout has to be treated because these discomfort issues will happen. If high levels of uric acid in the blood are not treated, they will most likely from hard crystals on the joints.
The causes and chances of getting gout are doubled in those cases where the obesity risk factor is higher and also in people who drink alcohol.
The breaking down of waste material would be way harder for people who are overweight and also for those who have kidney problems. Those are the ones that most likely will suffer uric acid attacks.
Most common symptoms that people with gout will get are: nighttime swelling, tenderness, redness and sharp pain in their big toe.
They also get attacks in their foot, ankle, knees and other joints. These attacks can be prolonged and last for a few days and even weeks. According to a doctor, the only way to relieve pain is by taking anti-inflammatory prescription pills, such as: ibuprofen or corticosteroids.
You will feel an ease in the pain, however, the symptoms will still stay the same, not getting any better. That link between medicine and easing of pain will make you be on pills any time you feel pain, and who wants to go through that process of feeling immense pain without taking something to relieve it, right?
Therefore, for all those who are in a status quo situation and think that do not have any other alternative that taking pills, we are about to change the perspective a little bit.
There is a direct link between your diet and your health. For that reason, the active ingredients that this drink is made of, will reduce pain and inflammation, naturally, and also diminish the symptoms that you suffer from. Every single ingredient adds upon the healing process, fighting the causes of gout.
INGREDIENTS:
  • Pineapple
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger Root
  • Tart Cherry Root
Why Pineapple?
We have chosen pineapple as one of the key ingredients of this drink because it contains the enzyme Bromelain, which is one of the most natural anti-inflammatory ingredients. Bromelain interferes with the hormones that are responsible for the swelling, and reduces it.
Enzyme is also great for diets rich in protein and meat, because it helps in digestion. Gout has especially been linked to diets that are high in uric acid, so a proper digestion of the meat proteins that is enabled by Bromelain is quite useful.
Why Turmeric?
Curcumin, an anti-inflammatory ingredient in turmeric, works great for your overall health condition, relieving pain. Curcumic is responsible for blocking the red blood vessels from enlarging and blocking the excessive production of the protein.
Why Ginger Root?
The ginger root is composed of gingerols, which are active ingredients, related to capsaicin. They are more or less similar to capsaicin on a molecular level, which means that they lessen the enzymes which cause inflammation in the body.
Why Tart Cherry Root?
Studies have shown that cherries lower the level of uric acid in the blood, which means that you will stay away from risk and also lessen the chances to get a gout attack.
To prepare the recipe that contains the above given ingredients and will help with gout, you will need:
  • 1-2 teaspoons of turmeric powder
  • 1 cup of tart cherry juice
  • Honey(optional)
  • 1 pineapple
  • 2-3 teaspoons of powdered ginger, or 1 inch off of a fresh ginger root
  • Blender or food processor
  • Strainer
  • A glass container with a tight lid
Directions:
You should cut the stem, and the skin of the pineapple. You can choose whether to use the stem or not, and chop the content into pieces.
You should have in mind that the stem has high concentration of bromein, but it is up to you to choose.
Put all the ingredients, except for the honey, in a blender and mix them until you get a homogenous texture.
Store it in the glass container and keep it refrigerated. For those of you, who would like a sweeter taste just add honey, or lessen the amount of ginger and turmeric, if you dislike their taste.
The drink will last for a month if you keep it in the refrigerator, and should be drank on regular basis for prevention or in a large amount in cases of gout attack, as a cure.

8 Great Benefits of Drinking Cucumber Water (+5 Recipes)

Cucumber water is one drink that you’ll want to consider the next time you’re feeling thirsty. It not only helps genuinely hydrate the body, it can help you feel better overall, and even look better. Here are all of the benefits you’ll reap, and some recipes to help you along.

1. Helps Hydrate You
When you meet your specific water needs you’ll enjoy the benefits of staying hydrated, like maintaining the right body temperature, helping your cardiovascular system, and assisting in the cleansing of toxins. You’ll have more energy and help each of your organs do its job better when they’re getting enough water. Cucumber water adds that little something extra to regular water that makes you more likely to drink it more often, helping you stay hydrated each day. For the best results make sure you are using purified or spring water to avoid the intake of contaminants.
2. Provides Extra Vitamins and Minerals
Water is vital to the body, but by itself it’s not a great source of vitamins. When you add in cucumbers you’ll be adding in vitamins and minerals that will help supplement the rest of your diet. Many cucumber water recipes also add in fruit, so you’ll be getting antioxidants and extra vitamins from those, like Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Since these vitamins are coming from whole food sources and not synthetic vitamins they’ll be better absorbed and utilized by the body than if you were to get them from waters marketed as containing added vitamins.
3. Brings Down Blood Pressure
Keeping your blood pressure in check is important because it will help keep you away from debilitating diseases like stroke, heart attack, kidney disease, or vision loss. By drinking cucumber water you’re staying hydrated, and helping your blood pressure thanks to the 4% DV of potassium cucumbers contain.
Since they’re essentially free of sodium you’ll get the maximum benefit of this important mineral if high blood pressure is a concern. Just be sure not to go overboard with your water intake, you’re looking for the Goldilocks amount of “just right”.
4. Curbs Appetite
Drinking a glass of cucumber water when you’re hungry can help you make it until your next meal if it’s not quite mealtime. Eating when you’re not actually hungry can lead to weight gain, sluggishness, and can throw you off your natural eating cycle. When you feel hunger coming on before it’s time to eat again, see if you’re just thirsty. Thirst and hunger use the same signal, and drinking cucumber water can help determine if it’s really hunger that you’re dealing with. Saving yourself from just a few unwarranted meals a week can be a big boost to your health.
5. Soothes the Skin
Staying hydrated will help your skin stay supple and smooth, and adding in cucumbers to your water intake means you’re getting extra nutrients that helps even more. Cucumbers contain silica, which provides extra benefits to the skin. You can also use the cucumbers after you’ve finished the cucumber water. They’re great for helping to calm irritation caused by acne or other blemishes. You’ll be helping your skin from the inside, as well as topically when you add cucumber water to your skin care routine.
6. Helps Your Muscles
Whether or not you’re trying to put on muscle, helping your muscles stay strong is a good idea. The same silica in cucumbers that helps the skin, also helps your muscle tissues healthy. It’s a great choice if you’ve added a strength training regimen to your healthy lifestyle, or if you want to make sure that your muscles have all of the nutrients needed to function at their best. A daily glass of cucumber water makes a great contribution to the overall health of your muscles, and your body in general.
7. It Has Antioxidant/Detoxing Properties
Use cucumber water during a detox program and you’ll be helping the body out even more. It contains antioxidants that will help battle free radicals, and helps the body flush out built-up toxins thanks to its hydrating effect. Detoxing the body doesn’t have to be a one time or once a year event, you can help your body stay clean with daily attention to the foods that you’re taking in, as well as avoiding foods that are known as being toxic to the body. This sort of regular maintenance keeps you feeling great all year long.
8. Could Have Anti-Cancer Benefits
Cucumbers have shown promise for their anti-cancer properties, and when you use them as part of an overall healthy lifestyle, you’ll be helping to avoid this disease. Of course they aren’t powerful enough by themselves to ward off cancer, but as part of a broader approach at a healthy lifestyle it makes sense to stay hydrated with cucumber water. You’ll be taking in plenty of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients like the cucurbitacins found in cucumbers giving you a better chance at staying healthy long-term.
5 Cucumber Water Recipes

Cucumbers and lemons go well together, and in this recipe they’ve included the cooling effect of fresh mint to the water so you’re getting several tastes competing for your attention. Lemons themselves are high in Vitamin C, and since you’re unlikely to eat lemons the way you’d eat an orange, drinking this lemon cucumber concoction is a great way to top up on this immune-boosting vitamin. Mint is also a rich source of Vitamin C, as well as important minerals like calcium and magnesium. Consider adding the mint to a soup or smoothie after you’ve finished the water, as it’s an excellent source of fiber.

When you add in herbs to regular cucumber water you’re upping the flavor profile and also getting the nutrients each herb provides. This recipe goes all out and adds in three different herbs to get the flavor just right. At the same time you’re getting the vitamins and minerals from these herbs. Rosemary is a great source of iron, calcium, and potassium, and thyme can take care of your Vitamin C needs for the day all by itself. You’re also getting additional minerals from the mint, and the vitamins from the lemon. And don’t forget the goodness of cucumbers. That’s a packed glass of water!

You don’t have to wait till spring to make this springtime strawberry water featuring plenty of cucumber goodness. The lemon, cucumber, and strawberries make a nice trio of flavors and work well together. There’s also your choice of herbs, and they recommend either mint or basil so you can tailor this to your particular palate. The strawberries will infuse the water with additional vitamins that cucumbers don’t have a ton of, namely Vitamin C. If it happens to be spring this makes a great water to drink to help the body rid itself of any toxins stored up from a long winter.

The great part about making this cucumber and basil water is that you’re getting the tasty flavor of basil as well as the extra antioxidants it provides. That’s right, basil just doesn’t pack extra taste into the water, it’s also a nutrient powerhouse with the amount of Vitamin A it has. The Vitamin A gets turned into beta-Carotene in the body and has a strong antioxidant effect on the body, going to work on free radicals and helping you feel better. Contrary to popular belief, beta-Carotene helps with more than just your eyes. It helps the immune system and can even act as an anti-cancer agent.

Feeling parched is not in the cards when you make up a batch of this fruit water. But don’t let the title fool you, it’s packing more than just fruit and includes several slices of cucumber. Blueberries and strawberries give you a boost of antioxidants, and cucumber provides minerals and additional antioxidants that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to take on the rest of your day. When compared to other drinks marketed as energy drinks you’re much better going with an all-natural option that leaves you feeling good with no crash later.

Top 9 Alkaline Foods That Fight Cancer, Pain, Gout, Diabetes And Heart Disease

Are you trying to go alkaline too?
If you are in the midst of the alkaline process, it helps a lot when you know which foods to consume to stay alkaline as long as possible. A general rule of thumb is that you can eat these 9 foods without worrying about the acidic side effects they might have – although some of them are more alkaline than others.
Let’s make this clear: It is not necessary to eat only alkaline foods in order to get your body’s pH levels at an alkaline level. On the contrary, a certain percentage of foods consumed can be acidic, but it is best if they are natural, whole foods like fruits for instance.
1. Almonds
It is no wonder that almonds are alkaline nutriment since they consistently rank on the list of healthiest foods to eat.
And did you know that most nuts and seeds are considered acidic unless they are sprouted?
However, there are some nuts that are neutral, or just slightly alkaline, such as almonds.
Top stats (per 100g):
Calcium – 27%
Iron – 25%
Protein –  44%
2. Amaranth
Although the great majority of people are NOT familiar with this grain, it does make a great addition to any alkaline-streamed diet regime.
Today the amaranth is valued worldwide. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization have fostered amaranth’s use since 1967 because wherever it is eaten there is no trace of malnutrition! The amaranth has more protein compared with wheat and it is higher in the amino acid lysine than other grain sources of protein.
Distinguished botanists note that the amaranth belongs to a remarkable group of photosynthetic super performers called the C4 group, meaning it is super-efficient in converting soil, sunlight, and water into plant tissue.
Top stats (per 100g):
Calcium – 16%
Iron – 42%
Protein – 14g
3. Artichokes
One can often see artichokes on top of salads, or used in a dip, but there are a number of reasons why you can bring them to the very forefront of your diet.
Artichokes are known to have the highest antioxidant levels out of all vegetables, according to a study done by the USDA, and out of 1,000 different types of plant-based foods, they ranked No.7 in antioxidant content! Antioxidants are one of the primary means of defense of the human immune system against the devastating effect of free radicals – the natural byproducts of cell metabolism that can lead to a number of dangerous conditions and diseases in the body, including cancer and heart disease, among others.
Top stats (per 100g):
Vitamin C – 20%
Vitamin K – 12%
Folates – 17%
4. Arugula
Here’s a leafy green that is no doubt worth getting to know. The arugula is often used as part of a detox diet scheme, and the fact that it is an alkaline plant is a big part of that.
The arugula also provides high levels of plant protein, thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B6, zinc, copper, and pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) for raising good cholesterol levels and lowering the bad ones. Its flavonoid content has multiple benefits: it prevents cholesterol from sticking to arteries, lowers high blood pressure, improves blood circulation, lowers inflammation, and improves blood vessel function.
Top stats (per 100g):
Calcium – 16%
Vitamin A – 47%
Iron – 8%
5. Asparagus
The asparagus just so happens to be one of the strongest foods you can eat in terms of alkalinity.
Each food is ranked as to how alkaline it is, and the asparagus is one of the “big stars.” But it brings a lot more than alkalinity to the dinner table, including antioxidants, nutrients, and plenty of detoxifying agents. It has even been noted that the asparagus has strong anti-aging benefits, which is enough for most people to start adding more of it to their daily menu.
Top stats (per 100g):
Vitamin A – 15%
Vitamin C – 9%
Iron – 12%
6. Avocado and avocado Oil
You shouldn’t be taken by surprise that avocado is on our list of alkalizing foods. It has managed to make it onto our list of superfoods as well, so you know it is a nutritional punch.
Avocados are high in potassium as well as healthy fat, so in addition to helping you get more alkaline, you are getting other “perks” as well. You can also use avocado oil in favor of other oils that don’t provide any alkaline points, or even worse, when they are acid-forming in the body.
Top stats (per 100g):
Vitamin C – 17%
Vitamin A – 3%
Fiber – 27%

7. Basil
You might not have thought that the herbs and spices you use on your food have an effect on how acidic or alkaline your body pH level is.
But, it turns out that there are good spices and bad ones. The basil happens to be one of those that helps you keep alkaline tone, and it also has plenty of other things going for it, such as the flavonoids it contains. These help the body heal and the basil in general can help you with several different ailments of the body.
Top stats (per 100g):
Vitamin A – 175%
Vitamin K – 345%
Calcium – 18%
8. Beetroot
The beetroot is getting more attention now than ever before, and it is one of the foods out there that will act to help raise your pH levels.
The reason why it is an important vegetable to be included in your vegetable “arsenal” is that it is one of the only sources of the phytonutrient betalain which may have anti-cancer properties. Add these as a side, or use them as a salad topper. Be sure to buy this one fresh and steam it, as the pickled variety has reduced nutritional value.
Top stats (per 100g):
Vitamin C – 8%
Vitamin K – 11%
Folate – 75%
9. Broccoli
The broccoli is a quintessential healthy food, which makes it easy to understand that it is an alkaline food too.
Indeed, the broccoli is one of those veggies with so much going on for you that you simply have to make an extra effort to get more of it into your system. Some people eat broccoli every day as a way to maintain good health and make sure they are on the safe alkaline side. You need to eat it at least multiple times a week, with 3 or 4 times being a good rule of thumb.
Top stats (per 100g):
Vitamin C – 135%
Vitamin A – 11%
Calcium – 4%
Understanding how an alkaline diet works
Nowadays, alkaline diets are a popular choice for people who want to achieve optimum good health. However, many people don’t actually understand this diet and how it works.
The concept in fact is fairly simple:
The diet simply focuses on restoring the balance that was lost when man started to eat a more domesticated diet. Rather than focusing on foods that are high in sugar, fat, and cholesterol, an alkaline diet primarily consists of organic fruits and vegetables, healthy whole grains, wholesome protein sources such as soy, beans and legumes, and healthy oils such as canola, olive and flax seed.
These foods may be either alkaline or acid in their natural state, but they all produce what is termed as an “alkaline ash” once digested and metabolized by the body. When the body’s pH is kept at a slightly alkaline level, all the systems can run more efficiently.
Understanding the effects of the body’s pH level
The pH level of the body has the ability to affect every single cell of the body. When the blood has an alkaline pH value, instead of an acidic pH, it will have a positive effect on how every bodily system functions.
The brain, circulatory system, nerves, muscles, respiratory system, digestive system, and reproductive system can all benefit from a healthy pH level.
On the other hand, when the pH of the body has gone too acidic, it is susceptible to many diseases and problems. Weight gain, heart disease, premature aging, fatigue, nerve problems, allergies, muscle disease and cancer are all more prevalent when the body’s pH is not optimal.
Because these problems are all more likely to occur when the body’s pH is overly acidic, it makes good sense to switch to a diet rich in alkalizing foods.
The primary goal is usually to eat approximately 75-80%  alkaline foods along with only about 20-25% acidifying. If you maintain this level in your diet, the end result is a slightly alkaline body pH, which is just perfect for optimal health!
The choice of foods for an alkaline diet
In fact, it is quite easy to eat a diet rich in alkalinity-producing foods. Most fresh produce (fruits and veggies) is an excellent choice! Red meat is NOT a good choice, but you can add plenty of protein to your meals by using soy products, delicious beans, legumes, and nuts such as first-mentioned almonds.
You should eliminate unhealthy fats from your food, but you can use good fats such as olive, canola, and flax seed oil. High fat dairy products should be avoided, and you can drink soy milk and goat’s milk instead.
Cheeses made from soy milk and goat’s milk would also be good choices. Replace the empty calories of soda with delicious iced herb tea, green tea and lemon water.
Coffee should be avoided as much as possible, but you can drink hot herbal and green tea. Replace pasta with healthy whole grains such as wild rice, millet and quinoa.
When sweetening your foods, focus on natural products such as raw sugar, Stevia and maple sugar.
As you can see, you will have many nutritious choices that are both delicious and high in alkalizing properties.
