How a Mountainman Caught Freshwater Crayfish

Anyone know how to catch crayfish or crawdads? 

To catch crawdads, what some kinder folk call "mud bugs" is really not all
that hard to do.

Gather up a mess of children, outfit each one with a willow pole a length
of kite string, and a lightly gnawed on chicken bone, as each child lifts a
mud bug from the water simply shake it off into a bucket of water.

Another method is to find a place just above some rapids, clear the river
bottom to make a smooth place put a stone on top of a pork rind, then surround
the rind with some stones and place a large flat stone over the top of all,
this makes a nice little mall for the mud bugs to go and chew on the rind
without being pestered by cranes, racoons and such. In a day or two return
with some help. Set a fine meshed dip net just down stream from the rock,
lift off the cover rock and shoo the remaining crawdads down stream into the
dip net.

Then again you can go to a sporting goods store and buy yourself a crawdad
pot, put some bait inside of it, and simply check on it at your leisure.
